UPS is getting an early start on its annual holiday hiring spree. The company intends to hire more than 100,000 seasonal workers for the holiday season, and you can apply now.
The best part? Nearly 80% of these positions don’t even require an interview. You can fill out an online application, which takes 25 minutes or less, according to the company.
“We have made our hiring process as simple and easy as possible,” said Nando Cesarone, president of the company’s U.S. operations.
UPS is looking for:
- Seasonal delivery drivers and truck drivers
- Package handlers
- Driver helpers
These are a mix of full-time and part-time seasonal jobs. If you’re looking for work, you’ve got a good shot here: These positions are entry-level, though driving-related jobs have additional requirements.
All of these jobs can be physically demanding, so you must be able to lift, carry and/or slide between 35 and 75 pounds.
The pay for seasonal positions varies depending on where you work and your shift. We took a peek at open positions across the country and found that most warehouse worker positions usually pay between $15 and $25 an hour.
It can also be a shot at a permanent job, if that’s what you’re looking for. After last year’s holiday season, nearly 35,000 seasonal employees — about a third of all seasonal employees — earned permanent positions with UPS.
A full-time UPS package delivery driver makes an average of $95,000 per year, the company says.
Seasonal employees can also participate in UPS’ Earn and Learn program, which, according to the company, can result in up to $1,300 toward college expenses for just three months of work.
