These 7 Businesses Are Giving Out Health Care Worker Freebies

As we try to do everything we can to get through the COVID-19 pandemic, most of us are being asked to stay home and limit our contact to other people. That’s not the case for health care workers and first responders. As the rest of us hunker down, they’re going to work every day and coming face to face with the worst that the coronavirus has to offer.

They’re tired. They’re stressed out. They’re our heroes.

To honor them, a few restaurants are offering up some freebies. It’s a small way to acknowledge their service and keep them fueled for the fight.

7 Businesses Offering First Responder and Health Care Worker Freebies

Here are some of the offers we’ve found.

1. Starbucks

Nothing keeps us going like a good cup of Joe. Starbucks is offering one free tall, iced or hot brewed coffee to anyone who can identify themselves as a frontline worker. This includes firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, police officers, researchers, and hospital/medical staff. The offer is one per visit, per day. As of right now, this offer is slated to go through May 3.

2. Krispy Kreme

Two boxes of doughnuts from Krispy Kreme.

Now that we’ve covered coffee, let’s talk donuts. Krispy Kreme is hoping to bring some smiles to health care workers at the start of each week. On Mondays, health care workers can pull up to the drive-thru, show an employee badge to verify that they work in the health care industry and get up to 5 dozen donuts. This offer is good for “anyone who works at a hospital, as well as physicians, nurses, surgeons, psychologists, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists and their staff.” Take ‘em to work or take them home to your family. Either way, you’ve earned it. The offer is currently scheduled to end on May 12.

3. White Castle

From now until April 30, health care workers can get a free White Castle Combo #1-6 or any breakfast combo. Simply show your ID badge at the drive-thru and you’re good to go. One per customer per visit, drive-thru only. Harold and Kumar will be jealous.

4. Circle K

Circle K gas stations are offering a free Polar Pop soda, coffee or tea to first responders and health care workers. The website did not specify how one should identify themselves as a first responder or health care worker, so we’re assuming it’s an honor system thing. No end date has been established.

5. Cumberland Farms

First responders, health care workers and military personnel in the Northeast or the east coast of Florida can stop into a Cumberland Farms for a free iced or hot coffee of any size. No badge or uniform is needed; just let the clerk know your profession when you check out and enjoy your coffee buzz.

6. Fresh Brothers

Fresh Brothers, a California pizza chain, is helping people fuel their favorite first responders and healthcare workers. Right now, if someone donates pizza to be delivered to those on the frontlines, Pizza Brothers will match that donation. Why get two pizzas when you could get four? Call 310.642.0533 to place a donation order.

7. Nando’s Peri Peri Chicken

Nando’s is a staple in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas as well as parts of Illinois. Any healthcare worker who wears a uniform or flashes a badge at a Nando’s can walk out with a free takeout meal. What does that mean? According to the website, it’s “¼ chicken with chips, our signature dish.” Nando’s may also win for the best slogan during this time with, “Stand together. We’re not chicken, we’re family.”
